JR notes: I narrowed this list down by creating a full track list of all solo songs and removing the ones I got tired of. What I was left with was a collection of classics and guilty pleasures. I'm probably one of the few fans that likes Andy McCoy's Briard Revisited better than Building on Tradition. I still don't know why I like "Let's Play Home" so much off the Briard album, maybe it's Andy's guitar solo, but the song has a hypnotic effect. Similarly, Michael's "All Nights with the Lights On" (live) somehow holds up better to repeated listening than I would have expected. Gross generalizations about Michael's solo career: Not Fakin' It has the most dated sound, but live versions of songs off Not Fakin' It prove that this was perhaps Michael's most musically satisfying and diverse album to date. By comparison Peace of Mind is his best work lyrically, and Life Gets You Dirty is the most energetic and dynamic sounding - outstanding production. And yes, I do think that Jerusalem Slim's version of "Scum Lives On" is better than the Demolition 23 version. Not sure how, but it is. Thanks to all the members on the Hanoi Rocks list, especially Lambchops, who pointed me towards a few great ones I had overlooked.
